At the Beach -- Day 3/4

Our dear friend Gwen and her parents came down to spend a night with us, and she and Brooks ran themselves ragged. They played in the sand and in the water, both of them getting their dads to help them "jump over" every wave that passed by. Gwen's dad pulled Brooks on his surfboard, and then Brooks insisted upon pulling Gwen. Needless to say, we had great naps and slept in every morning that we were in Galveston...

At the Beach - Day 2

More beachtime on our trip to Galveston. Already, Finn is so tired that he falls asleep in Mommas arms, listening to the waves and feeling the ocean breeze. (Can you blame him?) Meanwhile, Brooks has discovered his new favorite pasttime: kicking the waves. He and Pop also do some dancing in the ocean, during which Brooks tells Pop, "Shake your bottom!" So they both shook their bottoms.

At the Rainforest

While we were in Galveston, we took the boys to Moody Gardens to see the rainforest. Brooks liked the bats and the butterflies; Finn liked the parrots and fish.

At The Beach - Day 1

The whole family spent a long weekend together in Galveston and had the most fantastic time. We headed straight for the beach as soon as we got there, and couldn't believe how blue the water was! It was the perfect weekend for all of us.

Hook 'Em Horns!

Brooks took Momma and Pop to the Longhorns game in Austin, while Finn stayed home and played with Grandad and 2Mama. Brooks had a great time: he stayed up way past his bedtime, wore a burnt orange cheesehead, practiced his Hook 'Em Horns hands and shouted "Texas Fight!" all night long.

Finn at the Museum

We made it back to the Children's Museum on Labor Day and had a blast. This time, Momma took the camera and followed Finn. We got lots of good pictures of Mr. Fun (I mean, Finn) and all his smiles.

First Trip to the Dentist

Last month, Brooks made his first trip to the dentist. He got to watch TV, wear cool shades and pick out chocolate-flavored toothpaste. He did a really great job and let them clean and floss all his teeth. He also made sure to tell the dentist how much he likes to drink milk (since that's what makes our teeth strong).

Smile, Please

This is what I get when I ask Brooks to smile for a picture.

And this is what I get when he stands there watching a train go by.

Birthday Boys

Brooks got to go to a lot of birthday parties this summer: Christian's "jump" party with a cool slide (Finn got to go, too); Gwen's pottery painting party with a face painter (see SpiderMan below); and Avery's pool party with an ice cream truck. They were all REALLY fun. Someone is looking forward to his party coming up soon.

At Grandma Jo's

Sadly, Momma managed to get NO pictures of Grandma Jo when we went to Conroe for her birthday... but here are a few of the boys. They had such a special time at Grandma Jo's. Brooks got to ride his new bike, and we all went for a ride in the golf cart. Kind of scary that Momma can remember riding in Grandma Jo's golf cart when she wasn't all that much older than Brooks is now.
