July 4th in Kerrville

What a fun and busy weekend we had in Kerrville for the 4th.

We went for lots of walks around the house

We visited Grandpa in his office and crawled all around

We had a fish fry, and Pop and Uncle Justin fried up everything in sight...

... while Momma K snuggled with B

B spent a lot of time playing with his toys in the kitchen

He also got to see lots of friends

The Jacksons

and the Clyburns!

We got to go swimming every day

And then John flew us home!

(Pop would like Mommy to apologize for not taking off the "Pooper" bib before taking the photo. She's all class, folks.)

While the Cat's Away...

Pop went out of town the last weekend in June with Uncle Todd and Austin, so Mommy and B had fun at home. Aunt Sarah came for a visit, and so did Susan and Dirk!

Tickling the ivories with Aunt Sarah

All smiles (finally!) for Susan and Dirk

Aunt Sarah brought this cool hat for Pop, but we didn't think he'd mind sharing...

Father's Day Weekend

We had a busy and wonderful Father's Day weekend. Brooks celebrated it by saying "Mama" for the first time. :)

Other fun activities:

Bubbles in the driveway with Gram, Pop and Marcellus

Playing with the poochies

Swimming

Father's Day brunch
(with the two best dads around!)

Cheering on the US Men's team to a victory!

What a weekend!

Clapping

Brooks is really having fun these days with clapping. On occasion, if you ask him to show you how to clap, he'll actually do it! (So smart for under 9 months old!) He is also a sucker for clapping if you say, "Good job!" And then there's always plenty of clapping just for the sake of clapping.

Gone to Santa Fe

The whole fam went on a trip to Santa Fe to visit Grandpa and Momma K. Brooks had a great time in the big plane and was a great traveler. He sure does take it easy on Mommy and Pop!

Our Fly Guy in the airport on the way to Santa Fe

Mealtime was an adventure in our new highchair

We played inside but also spent a lot of time enjoying the Santa Fe weather.

After a great trip, Pop and B shared the view on our way home

Swim Lessons

Earlier this month, we started swim lessons. Brooks was an absolute champ, and was already trying to stick his head under the water on his first day! He is a little fishy in the making.

Finger Foods

Brooks has started eating a few finger foods. So far, we have experimented with pasta, Puffs and (of course) Cheerios! Here is his first Cheerio experience.

Do I like 'em?

You bet I do!

Yeah, I got a Cheerio on my chin. Jealous?

Crawling

As of the end of May, Brooks is officially crawling. (No more dragging his body along with one arm!) Since then, he has gotten really fast, and Mommy and Pop are just trying to keep up!
